Timeless & Modern

Klezmer Music & Yiddish Songs

- East European Jewish Wedding Music -
are at the heart of Myridián’s program.

•  The musicians of Myridián interpret traditional melodies and songs, interweaving timeless music and modern thoughts.

•  The instrumental repertoire focuses on different aspects of klezmer music: ceremonial melodies, lively dances and virtuoso listening music.

•  The program also includes Yiddish folk ballads, new compositions, and improvisations.

•  The new program of 2006 is called “time edges  - Zeitrauschen”.
It presents music, stories and songs of social & generational change.

The three Myridiáns, having previously performed together in various other ensembles, came together in 2003 to develop a new style of music with their instrumentation. They each have years of experience performing in various styles and ensembles throughout North America and Europe. They are private teachers and music researchers as well.

Myridián's perfomances are entertaining, informative and festive, yet this group creates an intimate ambience.

In addition to performances, Myridián also offers lectures and workshop programs about the music, songs and dances of Yiddish culture, with historical information and hands-on coaching.

Please contact us for further questions about performances or educational programs.
